KAZI is a social enterprise that provides on-demand domestic services. KAZI’s overarching goal is to dignify, formalise and modernise domestic help in urban and peri-urban areas.
Domestic work is a crucial source of employment on one hand and a source of crucial services for household wellbeing on the other. Notwithstanding, domestic work remains informal and largely ignored by labour laws in many African jurisdictions. Moreover, domestic work is predominantly offered by women, often without clear contractual terms. This exposes domestic workers to poor work conditions, notably; low pay, long working hours, as well as physical and emotional abuse.
At KAZI, we recruit domestic assistants, provide them basic training and onboard them on to the KAZI application, so their services are accessed in a structured and safe fashion.
We have also struck a partnership with SafeBoda to pick and drop domestic assistants as required by their work bookings.
